Our Story

Boston Coffee Cake was founded in 1992 on the simple premise of baking the best coffee cake there is. The Original Coffee Cake recipe came from Nana Esther and has been passed down for generations - today we are proud to make it for you to enjoy.

Our humble beginnings included a 1,600 square foot bakery in Woburn, Massachusetts where we baked about 50 cakes per day. Our founder Mark Forman would put the cakes in his car and deliver the cakes around town. By 1996, we had expanded to a 6,000 square foot facility producing more cakes each year. Our reputation for being the best coffee cake in New England was quickly spreading.

Today we bake our coffee cakes and many other delicious and tantalizing new items in a new state of the art 11,300 square foot bakery, baking up to 12,000 cakes each day! In keeping with the family tradition of Boston Coffee Cake, we partnered with Bake'n Joy Foods, another New England family owned business, in 2010. Our goals have always been the same: to provide our customers with the best tasting baked goods to share with family, friends and business associates.

Each of our gifts is hand packed especially for you. We truly believe that we make the best cakes in America, but, don’t just take our word for it; Boston Coffee Cake was awarded the gold medal as a USA Taste Champion by the American Masters of Taste.
